    MESSAGE TO ALL HUNTERS:
  • Please be careful, discrete and considerate around other park visitors. Understand that many park patrons are NOT hunters and some may feel threatened by your presence.
  • By hunting in this park, you are a vital part of our “deer management team”. Our deer inventory and harvest data from the last five years indicates we have approximately 110 deer per square mile in this park. This is five times what the park can support without damaging habitat.
  • Proper management of Trap’s deer herd is simple: we must harvest more does and let more yearling and button bucks walk away to balance the herd’s sex ratio and increase the number of males. Make a proper management decision before you shoot.
  • To become an active part of our deer management team, contact Rob Line at robert.line@state.de.us . Have a safe and successful hunt.
