Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Where: Cape Henlopen State Park Nature Center

Details: The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park (FOCHSP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that works with the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation and the staff to support and advocate for one of the county's most unique public parks.

One of the most important activities we undertake is aimed at keeping the Park’s trails clear and safe. On "Trail Days", Friends and volunteers engage in regular trail cleaning and clearing maintenance as well as other projects, as needed.

What to wear and bring:

  • Weather appropriate clothing (layers are recommended), long pants, closed-toe shoes
  • Water and snacks
  • Work gloves if you have them

TO PARTICIPATE: just join the group who gather at the Nature Center at 9 am the first Saturday of each month.

ALAPOCAS RUN STATE PARK Volunteer Days

2nd Saturday thru December

Nov 11 *Dec 9

When: 2nd Saturday of each month (except in June - will be on June 3rd for National Trail Day)

Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Where: Alapocas Run State Park – 234 Alapocas Dr., Wilmington, DE 19803 We will meet in the Alapocas Ball Fields parking lot

Details:

  • Trail corridor maintenance – clipping trails
  • Removing obstructions on the trails
  • Removing invasive plants along trails
  • Picking up litter and trash along the trails

What to wear and bring:

  • Weather appropriate clothing (layers are recommended), long pants, closed-toe shoes
  • Water and snacks
  • Work gloves if you have them

Maximum group size: 50 people

WILMINGTON STATE PARKS – Brandywine Park

3rd Saturday thru December

When: 3rd Saturday of each month

Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Brandywine Park (Wilmington State Parks)

      1080 N Park Dr., Wilmington, DE 19802

      We will meet at the Josephine Fountain

Details:

  • Removing invasive plants in the park
  • Beautification by removing litter and trash in the park
  • Raking leaves and cleaning up plant debris

What to wear and bring:

  • Weather appropriate clothing (layers are recommended), long pants, closed-toe shoes
  • Water and snacks
  • Work gloves if you have them

Maximum group size: 50 people
