Environmental and Historical Educators provide
direct service at one of five nature centers or historical sites.
They lead and teach environmental education and interpretation
and historical and cultural programming, especially among students
in grades K-12, using a variety of techniques. These include
group presentations,
tours, walks, material handling, living history and first-person
interpretation. These members also conduct outreach in the
community by coordinating group presentations and making presentations
off-site.
Members also conduct research and design the curriculum and activities
for additional programs. |

Land Protection Support Specialists work with the Division Planners in the Mand Protection Office in various phases of protection activities. The specialist will assist with identifying land for possible conservation, monitoring easements, conducting title research, surveying, and helping negotiate with landowners. Additional duties include creating land management plans, monitoring land use, and working with the public.

Volunteer
Coordinators act as
catalysts within the park, generating community support and participation.
These members recruit, train, manage and supervise episodic and
long-term volunteers and conduct volunteer projects touching
all aspects of
the park services and progra ms. Members are assigned to specific
state parks. One member is assigned to work with the Program Director
developing statewide initiatives in the Director's Office and one
member is assigned to the Cultural and Recreational Services Office
to develop programming initiatives and provide statewide assistance
from this unit. |
