For all ages, especially the very young. Delightful animal stories read by a lively storyteller near the Otter Exhibit. Story Time will be moved indoors in the event of rain. Free with paid admission to the Zoo.

(18 months – 6 years) Animals come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Learn about our many colorful creatures, each week focusing on a different color or pattern! Fee: $8 per child ($6 per child for Delaware Zoological Society members). Special session fee: $50 per child ($35 for Delaware Zoological Society members) for all seven Animal Colors programs.

Volunteer Open House

(Ages 18 and up) Looking to make a difference? Want to share your passion for wildlife conservation? Do you want to inspire others? The Zoo may be the place for you! We are looking for mature, dedicated, knowledgeable, outgoing and inspiring individuals to spread the Brandywine Zoo’s mission about wildlife conservation. To find out more, attend the Zoo’s open house located in the Education Building (next to the Exotic House) to get information and to ask questions, fill out an application, start the necessary background check, and even complete the interview process. For more information, visit the Brandywine Zoo website. Registration not required. Free.

Zoo Fiesta

(All ages) The Brandywine Zoo and the Latin American Community Center are working together to provide a wild Fiesta! Learn about endangered species from Latin countries, and more importantly, learn how you can make a difference. This bilingual event will include an animal craft, face painting, music and more...all in Spanish and English. What's a fiesta without a piñata? See some Zoo animals play with their own special piñatas! Free with paid admission to the Zoo.

Home School Program: Biome Sweet Biome!

(Grades K-12) Discover how every living thing has a special way to survive in different biomes, the animals that live there, and the special adaptations that help them to survive. Teacher Professional Development Day

Columbus Day Camp: Animal Explorers!

  • TIME: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

(Ages 4 – 13) Explore the wilds of the Brandywine Zoo. Spend the day like Columbus, discovering new worlds as we learn about the different habitats from around the globe. Campers must be potty trained and bring a bag lunch and water bottle; a snack will be provided. Fee: $30 per camper ($25 for Delaware Zoological Society members). Morning drop off from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and aftercare until 5:30 p.m. are available. Aftercare fee: $8. Pre-registration is required. Deadline for registration is October 4. Scout Day at Brandywine Zoo: An Event for Girl and Boy Scouts!

Enjoy a morning at the Zoo designed for scouts and their families! Registered participants will get special early admission to the Zoo. Enjoy a morning of games, crafts and activities all geared toward scout requirements. Brandywine Zoo patches will be available for purchase. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather. Fee: $7 per person. Pre-registration required, space is limited, so please register early! Deadline for registration is November 8. Noon Year’s Eve Celebration at Brandywine Zoo!

(All ages) Celebrate the New Year Zoo-style by ringing in the New Year at noon. We’ll have games, crafts, a celebratory atmosphere and a sparkling apple cider toast as the clock strikes 12 (noon, that is). Fee: $3 per person ($2 Delaware Zoological Society members).
