Delaware Seashore State Park is looking for individuals to fill the following positions:
Domestic Maintenance Staff
Grounds Maintenance
Ocean Lifeguard
Park Patrol Officer
Domestic Maintenance Staff
Principle Duties:
- Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of restrooms and bathhouse facilities
- Remove litter and debris from buildings and grounds
- Use custodial tools and cleaning agents
- Minor repairs and painting
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with power-washer
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., weekends and holidays required
Benefits:
This is a seasonal position with no standard benefits. Direct deposit will be required as a condition of employment for new employees.
Starting Salary: $7.50 per hour

Ocean Lifeguard
Principle Duties:
- Protect lives at State Park swimming beaches
- Be responsible for safety of park visitors at Atlantic Ocean swimming areas within the park
- Complete USLA Training (provided)
- Essential functions of this position may include carrying heavy objects (in and out of water), running and swimming.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be over 16 years of age
- Trial and evaluation are mandatory
Hours:
40 hours per week, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., weekends and holidays required
Benefits:
This is a seasonal position with no standard benefits. Direct deposit will be required as a condition of employment for new employees.
Starting Salary: $10 per hour

Grounds Maintenance

- Care and maintenance of park grounds
- Use of landscaping tools, including push mowers, riding mowers, weed-eaters
- Fence and sign installation
- Minor building maintenance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Over 17 years of age
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using landscaping tools
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., weekends and holidays required

Park Patrol Officer
Principle Duties:
- Assist State Park Rangers in daily operations
- Educate the public regarding rules and regulations
- Prevent resource and criminal violations by patrolling, reporting, and traffic and crowd control
- Conduct safety checks of park areas and facilities
- Correct and/or report unsafe conditions
- Assist in emergency situations
- Maintain professional, courteous manner when dealing with the public
- May be assigned other duties to assist in park operations, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Must have a valid drivers license with satisfactory driving history
- Must have no criminal record
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have an interest in a park or wildlife enforcement career
Hours:
Shift work hours vary, weekends and holidays required
