Delaware State Parks Seasonal Employment
Seasonal jobs are available
at a variety of parks throughout the state. Openings are available for park patrol officers, lifeguards, naturalists, fee
collectors, campground registrars and maintenance.
Who can apply?
Eligible
candidates for seasonal jobs include high school, college students, school
teachers, retirees and other people who are customarily unemployed during
the summer months. Minimum age for employment is sixteen. Preference
will be given to applicants who are residents of Delaware.
What are the work hours?
Employees are required to work 40 hours per week and must be available to work
additional hours when needed. In most instances, time off cannot be taken
on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays. Seasonal positions are typically available
for three month periods-Memorial Day through Labor day.
What kinds of jobs are
offered?
A variety of positions are available from the rolling hills in New Castle to the beaches in Sussex county. These positions
are an excellent way for individuals interested in permanent, full-time employment
with the Division of Parks and Recreation to gain experience and requisite

the position and park location you desire. Send or fax the application
to the attention of the Park Superintendent. .
When should I apply?
Applications
received prior to February 15th of each year will receive
full consideration for that seasonal calendar year. Applications after
that date will be considered only as positions become vacant, but applicants
are encouraged to apply at any time. Applicants selected for employment
will be notified as soon as possible.
