Walk-ons will not be accepted.  All participants must pre-register.

General Information

Participants will stay in period attire for the entire program. Women may un-corset after the public has departed.

Authenticity inspection.

Saturday morning on the island by the Federal, Civilian, and Confederate Coordinators, and at the boat dock. If you misrepresent your impression, or fail to adhere to the requirements of these guidelines, you will be subject to eviction from the event. We are striving to make this event as real and meaningful as possible.

Eyewear

If corrective lenses are required, contact lenses are preferred. Period eyeglass styles appropriate to the early 1860s are also permitted. Modern eyewear is expressly prohibited in all areas of the event. "Period" sunglasses are prohibited.

General

The event hosts retain the right to request participants to make adjustments in their impressions to meet the needs of the event.

  • No drugs or alcohol allowed on State Property, PERIOD. Tickets will be issued.
  • No cigarette smoking within fort. An out of sight smoking area will be designated. (Subject to change if any applicable state laws change.)
  • No loud behavior between taps and reveille.
  • No stainless steel or enamelware mess gear.
  • No modern footwear, desert boots, or bare feet at any time.
  • No modern army blankets or post-war style quilts.
  • No modern jewelry, including wristwatches, post earrings, etc.
  • NO ANACHRONISMS; if unsure, leave at home or get prior permission from the Coordinator.
