Fox Point Phase II

A construction project to remediate contaminated soils and develop park amenities on the adjoining 40 acres of land, located immediately north of the existing park, is scheduled to begin in late May 2008.

The project, entitled Fox Point Phase II, is anticipated to require about a year to complete. During construction, the existing park, including restrooms, trails, pavilions and playground, will remain open to the public. However, there will be ongoing construction activities at the northern end of the site and a heavy volume of truck traffic is anticipated throughout the duration of the project on the park entrance road. Accordingly, the existing condition of the entrance road will not be appreciably improved until the project is finished.

Upon completion, the Phase II area will be opened to the public to enjoy new trails, parking, open space, additional restroom facilities, and a scenic river overlook. Delaware State Parks appreciates the patience and understanding of our visitors during this necessary disruption. For more information, please contact Bellevue State Park office at (302) 761-6963.
