As you approach Red Lion Creek, Dragon Run, and Delaware City, you can’t help but notice the major industrial complex nearby. These industries (Star Enterprises, Occidental, Standard Chlorine, Oriole Chemical Carriers, and others) are here because they need access to the water for either processing or cooling purposes. Star Enterprises is the largest industrial landholder in the area. Of their 5,000 acres, 2,000 are in agricultural use and 1,700 acres are designated as a wildlife preserve. This wildlife preserve includes Dragon Run, the next stop on this tour.
