UPDATE, SPRING 2008
North Indian River Inlet Marina
Complex
Delaware Seashore State Park
State Managed Rehabilitation and Modernization
Plan
Status Report
March 2008
Prepared by: W. Britt Murray

Completed Floating Docks

All the floating dock reconstruction providing 274
slips ranging in size from 25' to 50' in length along with 14 transient
slips has been completed.

Each slip is provided with
electric service ranging from 30A to 100A
as well as fresh water and a dock box.
Floating Fuel Dock

Fueling operation upgrades have also been completed, providing 18 high-speed
dispensers supplying diesel, gasoline and bio-diesel. Sixteen of the more
popular Charter Boats enjoy the convenience of in-slip fueling, which has
drastically reduced the need for boaters to wait in line to fuel.
Renovated Fish Cleaning/Bait & Tackle/Fish Sales

The former fish cleaning and sales building has been totally renovated
providing not only fish cleaning services, fresh fish sales and bait &
tackle sales, but also Hook 'em and Cook 'em caters to the hungry fisherman
and visitors with steamed crabs, shrimp, and a variety of tasty seafood
treats.
Drystack Storage Facility

We are extremely proud of the recently completed 156-slip drystack rack
storage facility which provides "valet boat service" for boats up to 35' in
length. This environmentally correct alternative to leaving your vessel in
the water is not only convenient and helps to preserve the finish on your
boat because it is not being constantly subjected to the deteriorating
ultraviolet rays from the sun, but eliminates the need and expense of annual
application of potentially polluting bottom paint. Patrons may also
realize a savings on their insurance rates by having their boats stored in a building
that has fire suppression sprinklers.

Contact the marina @ 302.227.3071 to check availability of slips.
Boating Supply Store

Our new Indian River Boating Supply Store maintains an inventory of the most
sought after supplies for your vessel. This new building also houses the
drystack administration office, public restrooms, and slipholder-only
accessed private shower and restroom facilities.
Travel Lift Well and Service Yard

Our Marine Travel Lift, rated at 50 tons lifting capacity, is available for
hauling and storing your vessel on land to conduct repairs and/or
maintenance.
The state-of-the-art marine service yard is designed to collect all run-off
from rain and/or wash-down areas. Run-off is directed through an oil-water
separator, then water is filtered through a bio-retention swale prior to
being deposited into a stormwater management basin meeting all current
Delaware environmental regulations.
Administration/Operations Building

The final major project to complete this four-year transformation has just
gotten underway.
A new office complex, which houses not only marina staff but also the
administrative and ranger staff for Delaware Seashore State Park, is being
constructed immediately adjacent to the existing office. The offices are
complemented by generous public spaces, conference facilities, laundry, and
pass-key-only showers and restroom facilities along with public restrooms.
An additional amenity which is part of this complex will be a ship store
selling a variety of sundries, sandwiches, and staples (milk, bread, eggs,
etc.).
The anticipated opening of this new facility will be spring 2009.
