The Green Park Initiative |
encourages environmental responsiblity throughout Delaware State Parks. The initiative teaches visitors
and staff how to minimize
waste and reduce human impact on our natural
resources in order to create
a healthier environment for visitors and staff and lower
the cost of operating the parks. |

In order to fulfill its responsibility to protect and preserve our state's cultural and natural resources, the Division of Parks and Recreation is committed to:
- facilitating the reduction of waste and promoting reuse and recycling
- supporting responsible land stewardship
- encouraging the wise use of resources throughout the Division
- promoting environmental education
- educating park visitors
- implementing a comprehensive environmental management plan
