1991

Port Penn Interpretive Center acquired from the Port Penn Area Historical Society.

1992

Fort DuPont State Park acquired from the Department of Health and Social Services. The park includes 184 acres and 21 buildings from the old military installation.

1993

Cauffiel Estate added to Bellevue State Park.

1995

White Clay Creek State Park reestablished to include Walter S. Carpenter,Jr. Recreation Area, White Clay Creek Preserve, and properties acquired from the estate of S. Hallock duPont.

Fox Point State Park, built on a reclaimed industrial waste site, opened on Earth Day.

1996

Grass Dale Center dedicated. This facility houses a conference center, the Fort Delaware Society, and a storage facility for archaeological, architectural, and folklife collections.

1998

Division takes responsibility for three urban parks in the City of Wilmington: Brandywine Park (with Kentmere Parkway), Rockford Park, and Alapocas Woods.

2001

Division of Parks and Recreation celebrates 50th Anniversary.
