Civic Organization
Rental Guidelines |
A civic organization is a group that is established as a not-for-profit organization with
501(c)3 tax-exmpt status, and whose purpose is to provide services for the public good.
Civic organizations wishing to rent the Blue Ball Barn should abide by the following guidelines:
- Civic organizations may rent the facility by completing an appropriate application and submitting the designated fees. All rental agreements and arrangements must be made through the Special Events Office (302-761-6952).
- Meeting rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis when the application and designated fees are received at the Special Events Office
- Qualifying organizations may rent the facility Monday through Thursday.
- Meetings shall be limited to a maximum of three hours.
- A group may schedule only one meeting per one month period.
- Reservations may be made no more than two months in advance of the meeting date to receive the special rate for Civic Organizations.
- The daily entrance fee will be in effect if a meeting is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the fee season
(May 1 – October 31).
- Refunds are provided if notice of cancellation is received a minimum of five days in advance of the scheduled rental.
- A $30 check handling fee will be withheld from any non-credit card fee deposit for cancellations.
- Immediately following the end of the meeting, the room must be returned to the condition it was in before the meeting.
- A list of certified caterers is provided for menu selection. Only those caterers who have been certified by the Division of Parks and Recreation may be used. Self-catering is not permitted (an exception will be made for cookie trays).
- Other Blue Ball Barn rental policies apply. Please review these policies prior to your meeting date.
