Surround yourself with art and history in the Brandywine Valley’s newest attraction, the Blue Ball Barn. Originally built in 1914 by Alfred I. DuPont, this extraordinary barn is named after the Blue Ball Tavern that was once located near the property. The Blue Ball Tavern was an inn and meeting house, known for its fine food. During the 18th- and early 19th-centuries, innkeepers along a stagecoach route in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Ohio raised a blue ball attached to a pole in front of the tavern was if passengers were waiting inside to board the stagecoach. The Blue Ball Barn can accommodate up to 200 guests indoors. For larger events, the courtyard provides space for up to 50 additional guests. The Blue Ball Barn is located off of Route 202 (Concord Pike) and is easily accessible from I-95 and other major roadways.
