Let us introduce you to a Delaware State Parks treasure - the lovely Judge Morris Estate. Hugh Morris, a jurist of national distinction, purchased the property in the 1930's and spent five years renovating and remodeling the house. Tour the house, learn its history, hear tales of the residents, and enjoy the Colonial Revival-style estate that the Morris family called "home." The Judge Morris House Tour is available year-round and lasts about 40 minutes. The cost of the tour is $45.

Morris Family Tour

Come in and meet the family! Get to know the three extraordinary individuals who lived here - Hugh, Emma, and their daughter, Mary as you tour their home. Learn how they used their unique talents to make notable contributions to Delaware and to the nation. See how each left an indelible mark on the estate. Find out who "wore the pants" in the family, who believed in using both head and heart to make important decisions, and who was the shrewd investor. The Morris Family Tour is available year-round and lasts about 60 minutes. The cost is $55 per tour.

Chestnut Hill Farm Tour
|
| Although we know it as the Judge Morris Estate, this property had a rich history even before Hugh Morris purchased it. Its "paper trail" extends almost 2-1/4 centuries into the past! This tour explores the interior and exterior of the house, its grounds as well as old photographs to reveal evidence of its origin, growth, decline and rescue. Along the way, discover traces of former owners and previous residents and clues about daily life in a by-gone era. The Chestnut Hill Farm Tour is available, weather permitting, and lasts about 1-1/2 hours. The cost is $65 per tour. |
