Forever Green Pinelands Trail Hike (1.5 miles)

Are our pine barrens really barren? Walk with us as we identify the various pines and other plants and animals that make up this community. Guppy Club: Great Groundhogs

Bring your 3- to 5-year-old to the Seaside Nature Center for learning fun! Discover why groundhogs would really wake up in winter and what this means for an early spring. We’ll discover secrets of nature through games, crafts, outdoor adventures and the books of popular children’s authors. Children must be accompanied by an adult and dressed for the outdoors. Cold War at Fort Miles

Take a tour of Fort Miles and learn what took place on this base during the Cold War. Hear tales of Doomsday ships, Soviet spies, tracking Soviet submarines and more. For ages 10 and older with an adult. Limited to 30. $3 per person

Lunch and Learn: Small Animals, Small Parts

Take a second look at some common and not so common animals (and their parts), and learn why it is good to be small, sometimes in an enlightening, thought-provoking presentation by park staff or guest speakers. Geocaching Treasure Hunt

Winter is a great time to use geocaching to explore the park. Join a naturalist and search for “buried” treasures, historic relics and a prize you can take home, all using GPS technology. For ages 7 and older with an adult. Limit 15.$2 per person
