Jim Hall
Read Jim's Naturalist's Notes.
Jim recently moved back to Delaware after nine years in Minnesota. Prior to moving to Minnesota, he worked for Delaware State Parks for about seven years in a variety of positions including Campground Registrar at Cape Henlopen State Park, and Seasonal Naturalist at Delaware Seashore State Park, Fort Delaware State Park, Port Penn Interpretive Center, and the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve. In Minnesota, he worked at the University of Minnesota's Raptor Center as an educator and Research Technician. His other positions in Minnesota included Education Coordinator for UnderWater World (a huge aquarium in the basement of the Mall of America), Senior Naturalist/Education Coordinator at Lee & Rose Warner Nature Center, and Outreach Coordinator for Three Rivers Park District. Jim was a recipient of the Charles E. Mohr Award for Outstanding Seasonal Interpreter in 1995.
Jim is originally from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania - just west of Gettysburg. Growing up in such a scenic and historic area gave Jim an early and pervasive love of history and the environment. He has a history degree from Behrend College - a Penn State campus in Erie, Pennsylvania. In his off hours, Jim likes to fish, boat, canoe, and hunt. He's also a big reader and loves to travel.
