Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife/Fisheries and a Master of Arts degree in Education. He has worked with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a Residential Summer Camp Coordinator and is presently working as the Park Manager for Killens Pond State Park. Matt is a Certified Interpretive Guide with the National Association of Interpretation and a Certified Interpretive Trainer. In addition, Matt is a Fundamentals of Canoeing Instructor, Kayak Instructor, Master Trainer of Leave No Trace, Master Trainer of Treadlightly and Certified Instructor of Project Wet and Project Learning Tree.
Matt is also a partner in Return to Nature, LLP, a kayaking company that runs eco-tours for day camps, scout troops, and corporations throughout Maryland and Virginia. When he is not paddling, you can find him traveling the park, playing disc golf, or out hiking a trail.
