    Wild about Horses at Sunset Stables

    • TIME: 1 p.m.

    Ages 5 to 10
    Meet the horses and ponies, experience a hand-held ride around the ring, and learn about the care of and safety around these beautiful animals. Meet at Sunset Stables. Call (302) 834-7588 for cost and registration details.

    Green Hour – Frogs and Flowers

    • DATE: April 3, 2010
    • TIME: 11 a.m.

    The Green Hour gets kids outdoors for an hour each Saturday. Head outdoors for scavenger hunts, hikes and other outdoor activities. Meet at the Whale Wallow Nature Center. Pre-registration is required. Call (302) 368-6989. $2 per child

    Toad Abodes and Frog Walk

    • DATE: April 10, 2010
    • TIME: 6 p.m.

    Make a toad abode for your garden from a clay pot. Learn why the whale wallow is important to local amphibians and go for a walk to listen for calling toads and frogs. Meet at the Whale Wallow Nature Center. Pre-registration is required. Call (302) 368-6989. $5 per person

    Introduction to Geocaching

    • TIME: 1 p.m.

    Learn about geocaching, how to use a handheld GPS unit and how to locate some geocaches in the park. Pre-register by April 16. Meet at the Whale Wallow Nature Center. Pre-registration is required. Call (302) 368-6989. $4 per person

    Family Camping Fun - Craft and Scavenger Hunt

    Celebrate Earth Day with a weekend of outdoor fun for your family. Make a craft out of recycled materials, and then head out for a scavenger hunt around the campground.

    Family Camping Fun - Night Hike and Campfire

    • DATE: April 24, 2010
    • TIME: 7 p.m.

    Take a guided walk in the night and listen for night-time sounds. Then gather around the campfire to warm up and enjoy some fireside guitar. Meet behind the bathhouse. Free for campers, $4 for non-campers

    Kayaking the Pond

    Enjoy an afternoon of kayaking on the pond. Wear sunscreen and bring water. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the boathouse in area 2. $15 per participant

    Memorial Day Camping Weekend - Sunset Canoe and Campfire

    • DATE: May 28, 2010
    • TIME: 7 p.m.

    Start the summer off with a great camping weekend at Lums Pond. Bring a tent, RV or rent a yurt. Head out on the pond in a canoe or kayak to enjoy the evening sky. Afterward, we will roast bananas around a fire. Participants must be able to swim. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the boathouse in Area 2. Space is limited; registration is required. $12 per participant, or $8 for campers

    Memorial Day Camping Weekend - Experience Civil War History in Person

    • TIME: 7 p.m.

    Start the summer off with a great camping weekend at Lums Pond. Bring a tent, RV or rent a yurt. Interpreters from Fort Delaware bring award-winning living history to the park. Meet behind the bathhouse. Campers free, non-campers $4
