Vital Volunteers in Our Parks Open House

Meet at the Blue Ball Barn Need a reason to get outside this season? We have got you covered. Volunteers are vital to our success in winter, spring, summer and fall. Tim Spies, our Wilmington State Parks Region AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator and current Wilmington State Parks volunteers will be on hand to give you details about making a difference in our parks. Join us at the Vital Volunteer Open House to find out more about volunteer opportunities and the training we provide at Wilmington and Alapocas Run State Parks (volunteers must be 18 or older). Great for kids ages 3 to 5 and their families. It’s a Mud Puddle Wonderful afternoon at Wilmington State Parks. Get your wet weather gear and galoshes and join the fun learning about mud, making mud pies, finding where mud comes from and how mud is a sure sign of spring! We will be muddling around the creek’s edge and making a few mud prints of our own. See you at the Josephine Fountain in Brandywine Park. Pre-registration required. Maximum registration 25. $3 per person with $10 max per immediate family.
[top]Very Cherry Blossoms in Brandywine Park

- TIME: 1 – 2 p.m.
Join Wilmington State Parks Naturalists on a very cherry hike through the park. Late March and early April are peak times to enjoy the beautiful trees along the Brandywine Creek. Learn about the history of this park as it blossoms with springtime. Free program, meet at Josephine Fountain.
