All programs require pre-registration unless otherwise noted in the program description.
Park entrance fees are charged daily from March 1 through November 30. For convenient access to all state parks, annual passes are available at any park office, or online. Thank you for supporting Delaware State Parks – we’re saving a place for you!

Monthly Birdwalk

  • DATE: Saturday, May 26, 2012
  • TIME: 8 a.m.

Our expert volunteer birders from the Museum of Natural History will lead the group. Wear comfortable hiking boots. Free program with paid park entrance

Guided Canoe Trip

  • DATE: Saturday, May 26, 2012
  • TIME: 9:30 a.m.

A certified leader and a naturalist will help with canoe instruction and nature identification. Ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. You and a partner must be able to carry your canoe to the river. We provide equipment; bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress to get wet. Some experience is recommended. Meet at Thompson’s Bridge parking lot. Advance registration and payment are required. $20 per person; a third person in a canoe is $10 (700-lb. capacity). Register by May 23.

Nature Explorers Club: Amazing Amphibians

  • TIME: 1:30 – 2:15 p.m.

Ages 4 to 6 years. Do toads give you warts? Can a frog breathe underwater? Learn about these creatures and have fun exploring the park looking for them Pre-registration is encouraged! Dress for outdoor activities, weather permitting. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available. $3 per child

Terrific Toddlers: Fantastic Frogs

Ages 2 and 3 years. Do frogs have tails? Get answers to all of your froggy questions as we explore a frog’s world and make a craft. Pre-registration is encouraged! Dress for outdoor activities, weather permitting. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available. $3 per child

National Trails Day River Clean-Up

Help keep the Brandywine beautiful. Shoes and clothes will get wet during the clean-up! Ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Register by June 2. Canoe space is limited.

Adventure Race: Clash with the Creek

Flint Woods Nature Preserve – Hike and Hot Cocoa

Join us at Flint Woods for a winter hike. We will transport you in a warm van to hike and return to the Nature Center for a steaming cup of cocoa.
