About Cape Henlopen State Park Summer Camps


Mail-in registration begins March 1.
Walk-in registrations will be accepted March 15.

How to Register

To register, download a registration packet, or pick one up at the Seaside Nature Center, and complete the form. A fully-completed registration form and payment are required for each child.Registration is accepted in person, by mail or fax, or scanned by email. Paperwork will not be processed until full payment is received.

Be sure to indicate on each registration form the camp date, title, and fee.

Checks may be made  payable to C.H.S.P.

All registrations postmarked on or before March 1 will be given equal preference and will be processed randomly. Registrations postmarked after March 1 will be processed in the order submitted. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing 30 days before the start of camp in order to receive a refund. Cancellations or rescheduling will be subject to a $30 administrative fee.

Making Tracks

Session:
Monday, June 13, 2016 to Friday, June 17, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – Noon
Ages: 5 to 6
Cost: $100 per camper

About the Program: Use your detective skills to find animal tracks on and off the trails! Learn about what animals live in the park and how they move around. Limit 12. Campers must have completed Kindergarten.


Fishing for the Future

Session:
Monday, June 20, 2016 to Friday, June 24, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 10
Cost: $200 per camper

About the Program: Cast out your line and reel in the big one. You will fish, seine, crab and clam while you learn how to fish responsibly and protect these animals and the habitats where they live. Limit 16


Cape Challenge

Session:
Monday, June 27, 2016 to Friday, July 01, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 10 to 12
Cost: $200 per camper

About the Program: Are you up to the challenge? With teamwork and hustle you can conquer some of the challenges of living in the wild side of the park. Limit 16


Fun in the Sun

Session:
Tuesday, July 05, 2016 to Friday, July 08, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – Noon
Ages: 5 to 6
Cost: $80 per camper

About the Program: Calling all sunbathers! Make a sun dial, feed our plants, and create crafts with the help of the sun! Limit 12. Campers must have completed Kindergarten.


Operation Fort Miles

Session:
Monday, July 11, 2016 to Friday, July 15, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 10 to 12
Cost: $225 per camper

About the Program: Develop the skills needed to help you rescue the “The Supreme Allied Commander.” Break codes, use a compass and conceal yourself in nature as you train for the final rescue mission. Limit 16


Private I – Insect Investigators

Session:
Monday, July 18, 2016 to Friday, July 22, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. - Noon
Ages: 7 to 8
Cost: $185 per camper

About the Program: Search for clues to the mystery of where insects live and why they are important to life at Cape Henlopen. Limit 16.


Cape Crusaders

Session:
Monday, July 25, 2016 to Friday, July 29, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 10
Cost: $200 per camper

About the Program: Do you dare to venture where hunters, pirates and warriors traveled during this week of exploration? Search for wildlife, hunt for treasure, challenge yourself and make your own history as we bury a time capsule. Limit 16


History Hikers

Session:
Monday, August 01, 2016 to Friday, August 05, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 10
Cost: $200 per camper

About the Program: Trek back through time and learn some local history. From sunken ships to settlements, pirates to soldiers, there’s plenty to learn in Lewes and Cape Henlopen State Park. Limit 12


Eco Explorers

Session:
Monday, August 08, 2016 to Friday, August 12, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. - Noon
Ages: 7 to 8
Cost: $185 per camper

About the Program: Explore the different ecosystems in the park. Learn which habitats some plants and animals like, and why others stay away. Limit 16


Surviving the Wild

Session:
Monday, August 08, 2016 to Friday, August 12, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 12
Cost: $175 per camper

About the Program: Campers will learn skills such as boating, fishing, fire building, orienteering and more. Enjoy activities that will add to our outdoor knowledge. We will be making our own survival kits to take home. This camp will have an overnight campout on Thursday, August 11.


Children in Nature

Session:
Monday, August 15, 2016 to Friday, August 19, 2016
Camp Day: 9 a.m. - Noon
Ages: 5 to 6
Cost: $100 per camper

About the Program: Use all your senses and explore which plants and animals grow up in the park and how they survive. Limit 12. Campers must have completed Kindergarten.
