Available Positions:
Environmental and Historical Educators
Environmental and Historical Educators provide direct service at one of five nature centers or historical sites. They lead and teach environmental education and interpretation and historical and cultural programming, especially among students in grades K-12, using a variety of techniques. These include group presentations, tours, walks, material handling, living history and first-person interpretation. These members also conduct outreach in the community by coordinating group presentations and making presentations off-site. Members also conduct research and design the curriculum and activities for additional programs.

Volunteer Coordinators
Volunteer Coordinators act as catalysts within the park, generating community support and participation. These members recruit, train, manage and supervise episodic and long-term volunteers and conduct volunteer projects touching all aspects of the park services and prograVolunteer Coordinatorms. Members are assigned to specific state parks. One member is assigned to work with theYouth Conservation Corps program Director developing statewide initiatives in the Director's Office and one member is assigned to the Cultural and Recreational Services Office to develop programming initiatives and provide statewide assistance from this unit.

What's Required for Full-Time Service:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proof of citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to work weekends and some evenings. Mostly day participation.
Benefits
Living Allowance
Full-time members receive a $11,400 living allowance paid every 2 weeks in $475.00 installments over the eleven-month service period.
Educational Scholarship
Upon successful completion of their service, members receive an educational award which can be used for future educational expenses or for current student loans up to (7) seven years after their completion of service.
Full-time members serving October - August receive $4,725
Student Loan Forbearance
Full-time members serving October-August who are currently in repayment for student loans are eligible to receive interest-free deferment of payments during their service year, provided it is an approved student loan.
Childcare
Income-eligible full-time members serving October-August may be eligible to receive full childcare benefits at the daycare provider of their choosing.
Uniforms
All members are provided with service uniforms. Historical interpreters are provided with period reproduction costumes for their service period.
Training
All members receive on-going training and real opportunities for self-development.
Support of Staff and Volunteers
Members are not alone! Members work as part of the park team, alongside park professionals, volunteers and other ASPP members.
