The First State Heritage Park
a
t Dover

Established by Governor Ruth Ann Minner in 2004, The First State Heritage Park represents a partnership between the Delaware Department of State, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, and the Delaware Economic Development Office.  The state's first "park without boundaries" links historical and cultural sites in the capital city of Dover. 

First Saturdays

in the

First State

While the major park sites are open throughout the week, visitors are especially encouraged to sample Dover’s rich history on the first Saturday of each month. Highlighted by guided tours of Legislative Hall, the park sites are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with special programs at each site developed every month. Visit "Things to Do" to see when these and other exciting events are planned!

Self-guided audio walking tours
of nearly 30 sites located in Dover’s historic district are now available. The audio wands can be rented at
T
he Delaware Visitor Center, 406 Federal Street.
Monday–Saturday:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday: 1:30 to 3 p.m.

The standard fee for the audio tour is $5, but a
$2 discount coupon can be downloaded here.
